Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Reporting Engineer (Power BI) to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade reporting and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI (Dashboards and Paginated Reports), SQL Server, Snowflake, and Databricks, with the ability to transform complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance reporting solutions.
The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver accurate, insightful, and visually compelling reports while ensuring optimal performance, security, and governance of enterprise reporting platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesPower BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Build business-critical Power BI Paginated Reports and operational dashboards.
- Develop reusable datasets, semantic models, and report templates.
- Create intuitive visualizations and KPIs to support business decision-making.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and role-based access controls.
Report Development & Analytics
- Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
- Develop reports supporting finance, operations, sales, and executive leadership.
- Ensure report accuracy through data validation and quality checks.
- Automate recurring reports and reporting workflows.
Database Development
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions using T-SQL.
- Design efficient data retrieval strategies for reporting.
- Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot database and reporting performance issues.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across reporting environments.
Data Integration
- Work with data from multiple enterprise systems including:
- SQL Server
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to consume curated datasets.
- Validate data transformations and reporting accuracy.
- Support integration of structured and semi-structured data sources.
Data Warehousing
- Understand enterprise data warehouse architecture.
- Develop reporting solutions using dimensional models (Star and Snowflake Schemas).
- Work with fact and dimension tables.
- Support data modeling for reporting and analytics.
Cloud Analytics
- Build reporting solutions using cloud-based data platforms.
- Work with Snowflake and Databricks for analytics and reporting.
- Support cloud data modernization initiatives.
- Optimize report performance for cloud-based datasets.
Performance Optimization
- Optimize Power BI reports for faster performance and scalability.
- Tune SQL queries and datasets for improved report responsiveness.
- Implement efficient data refresh strategies.
- Reduce report rendering times for large datasets.
Data Governance & Security
- Implement data security best practices.
- Maintain compliance with enterprise data governance policies.
- Ensure secure access to sensitive business data.
- Support audit and compliance requirements for reporting platforms.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Reporting Engineer, Power BI Developer, or Business Intelligence Developer.
- Strong hands-on experience building enterprise Power BI dashboards and Paginated Reports.
- Advanced experience with SQL Server and T-SQL development.
- Experience working with Snowflake and Databricks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data modernization and migration projects.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration processes.
- Hands-on experience optimizing SQL queries and report performance.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure Synapse Analytics is an advantage.
- Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise applications and APIs.
