Job Title: Theatre Technician (Operation Theatre Technician / OT Technician)
Job Summary:
Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff in preparing and maintaining the operating theatre, ensuring surgical equipment is functional, sterile, and ready for procedures while supporting safe and efficient surgical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms before surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgical teams during operations by providing required instruments and materials.
- Set up, operate, and maintain surgical and monitoring equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and report shortages.
- Clean and prepare the operating theatre between procedures.
- Assist in patient positioning and transportation before and after surgery.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and sterilization processes.
- Follow safety regulations and hospital policies at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or a related healthcare field.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
- Understanding of infection prevention and control practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
