We are looking for a qualified and patient-focused MBBS Doctor / General Physician to join ExpressAid on a part-time basis and provide virtual medical consultations to users.
Job Summary
The doctor will primarily provide telemedicine consultations to patients through the ExpressAid platform during agreed working hours.
The role involves assessing patients remotely, reviewing relevant information provided by patients and healthcare professionals, providing appropriate medical advice, prescribing medication where clinically appropriate and legally permitted, and determining when a patient should be referred for an in-person consultation, diagnostic evaluation or emergency medical care.
This position does not require routine home visits.
Key Responsibilities
The selected doctor will be responsible for:
- Conducting virtual consultations with patients through the ExpressAid platform.
- Obtaining and reviewing relevant patient history during consultations.
- Assessing symptoms and health concerns presented by patients.
- Reviewing available vital signs and other relevant information collected by qualified healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Providing appropriate medical advice based on professional clinical judgment.
- Providing treatment recommendations within the doctor's professional scope of practice.
- Issuing prescriptions when clinically appropriate and permitted under applicable telemedicine and medical regulations.
- Advising patients when diagnostic investigations may be appropriate.
- Reviewing diagnostic reports when included within the consultation service.
- Providing appropriate follow-up guidance.
- Identifying cases where teleconsultation is not sufficient.
- Recommending an in-person doctor/hospital evaluation when clinically required.
- Recognising potential medical emergencies and advising patients to seek appropriate emergency medical care.
- Coordinating appropriately with ExpressAid's healthcare/nursing team when required for patient care.
- Maintaining accurate and appropriate consultation documentation.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with applicable privacy requirements.
- Following professional medical ethics and applicable telemedicine guidelines.
Interaction With ExpressAid Nurses
ExpressAid may have qualified healthcare professionals visiting patients at home.
Where appropriate, the doctor may review information made available during a consultation, such as:
- Temperature
- Pulse
- Blood pressure
- SpO₂
- Other relevant observations
The doctor may provide appropriate clinical guidance based on the consultation and available information.
The doctor remains responsible for exercising their own independent professional and clinical judgment.
Prescription Responsibilities
Where a prescription is clinically appropriate, the doctor will be expected to:
- Review the patient's condition appropriately before prescribing.
- Follow applicable telemedicine prescribing requirements.
- Prescribe only medicines that may lawfully and appropriately be prescribed through the consultation method being used.
- Provide appropriate dosage/instructions.
- Document the consultation appropriately.
- Avoid prescribing when an adequate clinical assessment cannot be performed remotely.
- Recommend physical examination or referral when required.
ExpressAid does not expect doctors to prescribe medication simply because a patient requests it.
Emergency Cases
ExpressAid is not intended to replace emergency medical services.
The doctor should be capable of recognising situations that may require urgent physical evaluation or emergency care.
Where appropriate, the patient should be advised to seek immediate treatment from the nearest suitable hospital/emergency service rather than continuing routine teleconsultation.
Eligibility RequirementsMandatory
- MBBS degree from a recognised medical institution.
- Valid and current medical registration as required to practise medicine in India.
- Legally eligible to practise medicine and provide the relevant telemedicine services.
- Good clinical knowledge and decision-making ability.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable conducting consultations using digital platforms.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Professional and patient-focused approach.
Preferred
- 1+ year of clinical experience.
- Experience as a General Physician / Medical Officer.
- Previous telemedicine experience.
- Experience handling common primary-care/general-medicine presentations.
- Experience coordinating with nurses or other healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with digital healthcare platforms.
Languages
Candidates should be comfortable communicating in English.

Working Hours
This is a part-time position with approximately 20 hours per week.
The final schedule can be mutually agreed upon depending on the doctor's availability and ExpressAid's consultation requirements.
We are particularly interested in doctors who can provide reliable availability during agreed consultation windows.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
