Job Summary
The Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating solar power plant construction activities, ensuring project execution meets schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation of Solar PV modules, Module Mounting Structures (MMS), inverters, transformers, and associated electrical systems.
- Monitor civil works, including foundations, equipment pedestals, cable trenches, and fencing works.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients for smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Track daily site progress and prepare DPRs, weekly reports, and MIS reports.
- Verify material receipt, storage, and consumption at site.
- Supervise HT/LT cable laying, termination, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain site safety records.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, CEIG, DISCOM, and other statutory authorities.
- Support testing, commissioning, synchronization, and project handover activities.
- Resolve technical issues during project execution.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Solar PV plant construction and commissioning.
- Understanding of electrical systems, HT/LT equipment, transformers, and switchgear.
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, GA drawings, and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with MS Office and project reporting tools.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
Preferred Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects.
- Experience in site execution, testing, and commissioning activities is preferred.
- Experience with MW-scale Solar PV projects.
- Knowledge of CEIG, DISCOM, and open-access approval processes.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Reporting To: Project Manager / Construction Manager
Travel Requirement: Extensive travel and site deployment as per project requirements.
