Job Description: Interior Site Supervisor (Technical & Execution)Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Interior Site Supervisor to manage daily on-site execution, conduct precise site measurements, and serve as the main link between the design team and site trades. In this role, you will take full ownership of the site, handling initial site surveys, drafting and updating drawings in AutoCAD, coordinating directly with interior designers, and ensuring all physical work is executed to high quality standards.
The ideal candidate combines practical site management skills with strong CAD capabilities, ensuring seamless translation from design concepts into physical reality.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Surveying & Measurement
- Conduct precise site surveys and manual/laser measurements (leveling, room dimensions, MEP line locations, structural elements) prior to project kickoff.
- Convert raw site measurement data into accurate as-built 2D drawings and survey layouts.
- Identify structural deviations, uneven surfaces, or MEP obstructions early and flag them before work begins.
2. Design Team Coordination & AutoCAD Management
- Act as the direct on-site liaison for the interior design team and architects, ensuring design intent is strictly maintained.
- Read and interpret detailed Good For Construction (GFC) drawings, MEP plans, elevations, and joinery details.
- Use AutoCAD to draft as-built conditions, resolve spatial clashes, and update working 2D layouts on-site when design adjustments occur.
- Raise proactive RFIs (Requests for Information) to designers when drawings require clarification or field adjustments.
3. Site Care, Ownership & Execution
- Take end-to-end responsibility for daily site operations, ensuring work progresses smoothly without unnecessary delays.
- Supervise all interior trades daily—including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, false ceilings, tiling/flooring, and painting.
- Enforce high workmanship standards and ensure proper site protection measures are taken (e.g., masking finished floors, protecting delicate millwork).
- Sequence trade schedules efficiently so teams do not overlap or hinder each other’s work.
4. Vendor Supervision & Billing Verification
- Direct daily activities for sub-contractors, specialized vendors, and labor, holding them accountable to project timelines.
- Verify physical measurements on-site and audit vendor measurement sheets/running bills before submitting them for payment.
- Track material inventory on-site to maintain clean storage, minimize wastage, and prevent shortages.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4+ years of hands-on site supervision experience in residential, commercial, or retail interior fit-outs.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Civil Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- AutoCAD: Proficient in 2D drafting, layer management, modifying layouts, and preparing as-built plans.
- Site Surveying: Expert level in site measurement, layout mapping, laser measuring, and site condition reporting.
- Drawing Interpretation: Strong command over joinery details, electrical/plumbing schematics, section drawings, and ceiling plans.
- Core Competencies: Clear communication, active site ownership, assertive vendor management, and practical problem-solving.
