Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to manage the procurement of pharmaceutical products, raw materials, packaging materials, and other operational requirements. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the PCD Pharma industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring timely procurement at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for pharmaceutical products and packaging materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and manufacturers.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize purchase orders.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid stock shortages and production delays.
- Maintain healthy relationships with existing vendors and onboard new suppliers.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, Accounts, and Production teams regarding procurement requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases accordingly.
- Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance while sourcing products.
- Track order status and follow up with vendors for timely deliveries.
- Resolve vendor-related issues concerning quality, pricing, delivery, and documentation.
- Prepare purchase reports, vendor performance reports, and procurement MIS.
- Control procurement costs while maintaining product quality.
- Maintain proper purchase records, agreements, invoices, and documentation.
- Stay updated with market trends, price fluctuations, and new pharmaceutical products.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in the PCD Pharma industry is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement processes.
- Experience in sourcing medicines, packaging materials, and third-party manufacturing products.
- Good understanding of vendor management and inventory planning.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, ERP software, and procurement systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet procurement deadlines.
