Position Responsibilities
1.Responsible for entire functions of Nursing Department.
2.Responsibilities may be distributed into sections Viz. ICUs, OTs, OPDs & Health Check-Ups, Invasive Labs and etc.
3.To supervise and co-ordinate activities of Nursing personnel engaged in both specific nursing services and general nursing services.
4.To formulate, modify and update procedure for nursing care for specific diseases, units, and problems.
5.Participate in installation of new machines and acquaint him/her self with the working and ensure that the specified nurses are also trained and well acquainted with the machine.
6.Prepare duty rosters and ensure that the staff in the department conforms to disciplinary requirements.
7.Make daily rounds – and observe the Nursing staff at Work and report same to administrator daily.
8.Deal with and handle problems and complaints of Nurses and institute corrective action and follow up as appropriate with information to as per reporting protocol.
9.Plan material and stationary requirements of the Nursing Departments/sections under direct care in liaison with ward/section in charge.
10. Liaison with stores, Materials and Purchase regarding procurements/delivery.
11. Establish specific accountability and responsibility for equipment and materials used by the Nursing Staff in performing their day-to-day functions and ensure that all such items are always available and good quality.
12. Co-ordinate with Human Resources in the recruitment, selection, training o nursing staffs.
13. Responsible for Nursing Staff Hostel to ensure adequate basic facilities and maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the Hostel.
14. Ensure that all Nursing Staff/of those directly under supervision, maintain and conform to departmental protocols.
15. Keep Supervisors informed at all times regarding any untoward incident as also noteworthy performances/dedication, at all times and on a regular basis.
16. Personally interact with patients to obtain and verify patient needs and requirements and ensure that they are met.
17. Consult with the Ward/Section – In-charge / Supervisor – on specific nursing problems and interpretation of Hospital Policy.
18. To liaise with other Departments In-charge / Consultants / Directors to ensure smooth functioning of Nursing Services.
19. To interact with patients, attendants and visitors and get they’re feedback on patient care and services.
20. To make suggestions / recommendations to the management to improve Nursing care in the hospital.
21. Perform any other jobs assigned by the management from time to time.
Educational Qualification :
- B.Sc. Nursing (or B.Sc. Post-Basic Nursing) OR 3-year GNM course from an INC-recognized institution.
- Registration: Must be a registered Nurse and Midwife with the respective State Nursing Council.
- Experience: Minimum 20 years experience in Nursing Field.
- Preference for candidates worked in NABH accredited hospital.
