Position Title: Music Teacher (Vocal & Instrumental)
Reporting To: Principal / Academic Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Music Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality music education to students through vocal training and instrumental instruction. The teacher will nurture students' musical abilities, prepare them for performances and competitions, and promote appreciation for music within the school community.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Training
- Conduct music classes for students of different age groups.
- Provide vocal music training, including breathing techniques, pitch control, rhythm, and stage performance.
- Train students in playing Guitar, Keyboard, Harmonium, and Octopad.
- Develop lesson plans and progressive training modules according to students' skill levels.
- Introduce students to various genres of music, including classical, folk, devotional, and contemporary music.
Performance & Events
- Prepare students for school assemblies, annual functions, cultural programs, competitions, and special events.
- Organize choir groups, instrumental bands, and musical performances.
- Select and rehearse appropriate songs and musical pieces for school events.
- Encourage student participation in inter-school and external music competitions.
Student Development
- Identify and nurture talented students in vocal and instrumental music.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Build students' confidence in public performances and stage presentations.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain records of student attendance and performance assessments.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and inventory of musical instruments and equipment.
- Coordinate with teachers and school management for event planning and execution.
- Assist in developing the school's music curriculum and co-curricular activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma/Certification in Music or Performing Arts.
- Formal training in Vocal Music and one or more instruments such as Guitar, Keyboard, Harmonium, or Octapad.
- Relevant teaching experience in a school or music academy preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong vocal and instrumental music skills.
- Ability to teach students of different age groups.
- Knowledge of music notation, rhythm, and performance techniques.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching music.
- Ability to organize and manage musical performances and events.
