Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with 3–6 years of experience in motor design and electrical engineering. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of electric motors, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Development
- Design and develop AC Induction Motors, EV Motors, Synchronous Motors, and Special Purpose Motors as per customer requirements.
- Perform motor electromagnetic design calculations including torque, efficiency, power factor, temperature rise, and performance optimization.
- Prepare and review motor design drawings, winding diagrams, GA drawings, and manufacturing documents.
- Develop and validate motor specifications based on customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Optimize motor designs for cost, performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
Motor Design & Analysis
- Design stator and rotor components including core dimensions, winding arrangements, slot design, and insulation systems.
- Calculate motor performance parameters such as starting current, starting torque, breakdown torque, efficiency, and losses.
- Perform thermal calculations and temperature rise analysis.
- Conduct magnetic circuit analysis and motor performance evaluation.
- Support finite element analysis (FEA) and electromagnetic simulation activities for motor performance improvement.
- Analyze vibration, noise, and mechanical performance of motors.
Testing & Validation
- Coordinate prototype development and testing activities.
- Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
- Support type testing, routine testing, and performance validation of motors.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, NEMA, and customer-specific standards.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams during product development.
- Support production teams in resolving design-related issues.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design review presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in motor design and development.
- Strong understanding of electric motor theory, electromagnetic principles, and electrical machine design.
- Experience in designing LV and MV motors.
