Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commi 1 to join our dynamic culinary team at Everhome Cafe in Bandra. As a Commi 1, you will play a crucial role in assisting the head chef and sous chef in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that meet our standards of excellence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a strong background in culinary arts and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to Everhome Cafe's recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, and prepared safely and in accordance with sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Follow proper plating techniques and presentation guidelines to ensure that all dishes are visually appealing.
- Monitor food quality and freshness, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize waste to maintain cost efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper storage of utensils and equipment.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff members as needed.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant training program is a plus.
- Positive attitude, passion for food, and dedication to excellence.
