Roles & Responsibilities
As part of the Project Team, the successful candidate is responsible for providing installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for electrical, electronic, and computer-based systems and equipment. The incumbent will be based at Bangalore by ensuring equipment reliability, timely issue resolution, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and functional verification of equipment at Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) sites.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, computer hardware, and system-related faults using standard diagnostic tools and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify opportunities for equipment performance improvement.
- Install, configure, and support Windows operating systems, software applications, device drivers, and peripheral devices.
- Prepare service reports, maintenance records, inspection checklists, and commissioning documentation accurately and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, electrical safety requirements, and site regulations.
- Provide technical assistance and customer support during installation, maintenance, and service activities.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Support project implementation, acceptance testing, and warranty service activities when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech. with 1–3 years of experience in field service, maintenance, technical support, or equipment commissioning.
- Experience working with electrical, electronic, computer-based, or industrial automation equipment.
Job Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in field service, technical support, maintenance, or equipment servicing.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
a. Electrical Knowledge - Understanding of AC/DC power systems, electrical components, wiring, circuit protection, multimeter operation, and electrical safety practices.
b. Electronics Knowledge - Basic knowledge of resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, relays, sensors, PCBs, power supplies, and electronic circuit troubleshooting.
c. Computer & IT Knowledge - Proficient in computer operations, Microsoft Office applications, email communication, file management, and internet usage.
d. Windows Operating System - Experience with Windows installation, device drivers, software installation and removal, user management, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
Hardware Troubleshooting
- Ability to identify and resolve electrical, electronic, and computer hardware faults using systematic troubleshooting methods.
Testing & Commissioning
- Knowledge of equipment installation, testing, commissioning, functional verification, and documentation processes.
Maintenance
- Understanding of preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, corrective actions, and equipment restoration procedures.
Electrical Safety
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards, PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe handling of electrical equipment.
Documentation
i) Ability to prepare service reports, maintenance logs, installation reports, and inspection records.
ii) Field Service Support
iii) Ability to provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, customer support, and technical service assistance.
