Job Purpose
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the manufacturing plant, ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective and timely production while maintaining quality standards. The role will lead plant operations, production, maintenance, quality, safety, manpower and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities1. Plant Operations
- Manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure smooth production activities.
- Achieve production targets as per customer requirements and business plans.
- Optimize plant capacity, manpower, machinery and other resources.
- Ensure effective production planning and execution.
- Monitor productivity, OEE, downtime and operational efficiency.
2. Production Management
- Prepare and execute production plans in coordination with planning and sales teams.
- Ensure timely completion of production schedules.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Reduce rejection, rework, scrap and production losses.
- Drive lean manufacturing and productivity improvement initiatives.
3. Quality Management
- Ensure products are manufactured according to defined quality standards and customer specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality team to reduce defects and customer complaints.
- Establish and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems and procedures.
4. Maintenance & Engineering
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of plant machinery and utilities.
- Minimize machine breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for equipment improvement and upgrades.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of plant infrastructure.
5. Cost Control
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Control material, manpower, energy, maintenance and overhead costs.
- Drive initiatives for reduction of scrap, wastage and energy consumption.
- Prepare and monitor the plant operating budget.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all applicable EHS requirements.
- Implement safety procedures, training and audits.
- Ensure statutory, regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
7. Manpower & Team Management
- Lead, motivate and develop plant employees and supervisors.
- Plan manpower requirements and ensure optimum workforce utilization.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Identify training and development requirements.
- Maintain discipline and positive employee relations.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma or other improvement initiatives as applicable.
- Establish KPIs and monitor plant performance.
- Analyze operational data and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
9. Inventory & Material Management
- Coordinate with procurement, stores and planning teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Control raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory.
- Reduce inventory losses, obsolete stock and material wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and material handling practices.
10. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly plant performance reports.
- Track KPIs including production, quality, OEE, downtime, cost, delivery, safety and manpower.
- Coordinate with senior management, supply chain, quality, finance, HR, sales and other functions.
- Provide timely escalation and resolution of critical operational issues.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
