Job Summary
The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for driving business growth through end-to-end sales execution, from lead generation and opportunity development to customer acquisition and securing Purchase Orders (PO). The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building and managing customer relationships, leading and monitoring the sales team, and consistently achieving monthly sales targets.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical sales capabilities, commercial awareness, leadership skills, and experience in industrial sectors such as Oil & Gas, Marine, Offshore, Power, Aviation, or Heavy Engineering.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
· Generate and develop qualified leads through market research, networking, referrals, customer visits, and outbound sales activities.
· Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting, customer engagement, quotation submission, negotiation, and follow-up until PO confirmation.
· Identify and develop new customer accounts and business opportunities within target industries.
· Build strong customer relationships and maintain regular communication to increase repeat business.
· Conduct sales presentations and propose technical and commercial solutions to customers.
· Coordinate internally with procurement, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure timely customer support.
Customer & Account Management
· Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
· Monitor customer requirements, project opportunities, and procurement cycles.
· Ensure high customer satisfaction and effective issue resolution.
· Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity pipeline, and forecasting.
Sales Leadership & Team Monitoring
· Lead, mentor, and monitor the sales team to improve performance and achieve departmental goals.
· Conduct regular reviews of sales activities, pipeline status, and conversion rates.
· Support team members in negotiations, customer meetings, and closing opportunities.
· Establish performance expectations and drive accountability within the team.
Target & Performance Management
· Own and achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
· Monitor sales KPIs including lead generation, conversion ratio, customer acquisition, revenue achievement, and order intake.
· Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and business updates for management review.
· Develop and execute action plans to address gaps in target achievement.
Market Intelligence
· Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, pricing, and market opportunities.
· Provide recommendations to strengthen market positioning and increase revenue.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
· Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Technical Sales / Industrial Sales / B2B Sales.
· Proven experience managing complete sales cycles and closing industrial sales opportunities.
· Experience in Oil & Gas, Marine, Offshore, Power, Aviation, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Heavy Engineering sectors preferred.
· Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and business growth.
· Prior experience in customer acquisition and key account management.
· Experience leading or mentoring a sales team is preferred.
· Strong commercial negotiation and relationship-building skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
