Job Summary
The R&D Manager will be responsible for formulating innovative personal care and beauty products, coordinating with contract manufacturers, conducting formulation trials, and ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance. The role includes end-to-end product development from concept to commercialization while aligning with market trends, brand positioning, and customer requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Innovation
- Develop and improve formulations for personal care and beauty products such as skincare, haircare, body care, and cosmetic products.
- Strong with Formulations and batches
- Conduct laboratory trials, stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluations.
- Research market trends, ingredients, and emerging technologies in the beauty and personal care industry.
- Create innovative products aligned with brand strategy and consumer preferences.
Coordination with Contract Manufacturers
- Coordinate with third-party/contract manufacturing partners for product development and commercial production.
- Support pilot batches, scale-up activities, and technology transfer processes.
- Monitor production trials and troubleshoot formulation or process-related issues.
- Ensure manufacturing partners comply with quality and product specifications.
Raw Material & Packaging Evaluation
- Evaluate and approve new raw materials, fragrances, active ingredients, and packaging materials.
- Coordinate with vendors for samples, technical specifications, and compatibility studies.
- Work on cost optimization and alternate sourcing without compromising quality.
Quality, Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure products comply with applicable cosmetic regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain formulation records, product specifications, SOPs, COAs, MSDS, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for product approvals and quality testing.
- Assist in regulatory documentation and claim substantiation.
Product Testing & Validation
- Conduct stability studies, microbial testing coordination, and shelf-life evaluations.
- Monitor product performance and suggest improvements based on consumer feedback and quality analysis.
- Support efficacy and safety testing requirements.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Marketing, Procurement, Packaging, Sales, and Supply Chain teams during product launches.
- Support product presentations, technical discussions, and customer queries when required.
- Assist in managing project timelines for new product launches.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 1-4 years of experience in R&D/product development within the personal care, skincare, haircare, cosmetics, or beauty industry.
- Experience in handling third-party/contract manufacturers preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of cosmetic formulations and personal care manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of cosmetic ingredients, stability parameters, and product testing.
- Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and vendor coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and formulation documentation.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹750,000.00 per year
