Position: Instrument Supervisor

Job Summary
The Instrument Supervisor is responsible for supervising installation, calibration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems and control equipment. The role ensures safe execution of work, quality compliance, and timely completion of project activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Commissioning
- Supervise installation of field instruments, control panels, junction boxes, and cable trays.
- Ensure proper cable laying, glanding, termination, and loop checking.
- Coordinate calibration, testing, and commissioning of instruments.
- Verify installation as per drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in transmitters, control valves, analyzers, sensors, and PLC/DCS systems.
- Ensure minimum equipment downtime through timely corrective actions.
- Maintain calibration records and maintenance logs.
Team Management
- Supervise technicians and contract manpower.
- Allocate daily work and monitor productivity.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Train team members on work methods and safety requirements.
Quality & Documentation
- Ensure work complies with client specifications and quality standards.
- Review P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and cable schedules.
- Prepare daily progress reports and manpower deployment reports.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, safety, and client representatives for inspections.
Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with site safety rules and permit-to-work systems.
- Monitor use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.
- Participate in safety meetings and audits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in industrial plants, steel plants, power plants, refinery, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, field instruments, and control systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents.
