About Us
SchoolSetu by Cognitive Smart Solutions is a WhatsApp-first automation platform that helps schools handle attendance queries, report card distribution, fee collection, and parent announcements — all through a single WhatsApp number parents already use. No app downloads, no login friction, just “Hi” and a menu.
Role Overview
We're looking for a part-time, field-driven Business Development Executive to onboard schools onto SchoolSetu. This is a high-ownership, incentive-led role — you identify schools, pitch and demo the product, close the deal, and earn a direct share of what you bring in.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and build a pipeline of target schools (private/CBSE/ICSE/international schools, school chains, education trusts)
- Reach out to principals, administrators, and trustees via cold visits, calls, email, and referrals
- Pitch SchoolSetu's value: reduced front-office workload, faster fee collection, 24x7 parent self-service via WhatsApp
- Run live product demos of the parent journey (attendance, report cards, fee payment, announcements)
- Negotiate and close deals as per the standard pricing model
- Coordinate with the onboarding team to ensure smooth go-live for each signed school
- Maintain accurate pipeline and visit records, and share regular updates with the founder/BDM
- Represent SchoolSetu at local school events, expos, or principal meets as opportunities arise
- Consistently work toward the monthly onboarding target to remain eligible for the allowance
Compensation Structure
- Allowance: Rs 5,000/month for travel and telephone/communication expenses — contingent on meeting the monthly target.
- Commission: Flat 50% of the first month's subscription fee for every school onboarded
- Example: A school with 200 students onboards at Rs 10,000/month subscription → you earn Rs 5,000 commission for that deal.
- Commission payout timing: Released only once the school's first subscription payment has actually cleared — not on signing or agreement alone
- No cap on the number of schools onboarded — earnings scale directly with your closures
Contract Terms
- Initial contract: 3 months
- Extension beyond 3 months based on performance (targets met, pipeline quality, engagement)
- Part-time role — flexible hours, but consistent field activity expected to meet monthly targets
Requirements
- Strong communication and pitching skills, especially with school administrators/principals
- Comfortable with a field-based role — visiting schools directly in your local area
- Own conveyance (two-wheeler) preferred for local travel
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a target-linked, commission-based, part-time structure
- Basic familiarity with WhatsApp, smartphones, and simple reporting (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Prior sales/field experience preferred but not mandatory — freshers with strong communication skills welcome to apply
