Job Description – Fabricator (Solar Panel Installation)
Job Summary
The Fabricator is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and modifying metal structures and mounting,The role involves cutting, drilling, welding, grinding, and assembling structural steel, aluminum, and GI components according to engineering drawings while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Fabricate solar panel mounting structures, support frames, and other metal components as per approved drawings.
· Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, bend, and assemble metal sections with precision.
· Perform welding using approved welding techniques and maintain high-quality weld standards.
· Read and interpret fabrication drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
· Ensure dimensional accuracy and structural integrity of fabricated components.
· Install fabricated structures at project sites when required.
· Coordinate with supervisors and installation teams to meet project schedules.
· Inspect fabricated components before dispatch or installation.
· Operate fabrication equipment, power tools, welding machines, cutting machines, and hand tools safely.
· Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas in clean and serviceable condition.
· Follow company quality standards and standard operating procedures.
· Report material shortages, equipment defects, and safety concerns to the supervisor.
· Assist in loading, unloading, and handling fabrication materials.
· Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Required Qualifications
· ITI in Fitter, Welder, Fabrication, Sheet Metal, or a related trade is preferred.
· Relevant vocational certification is an added advantage.
Experience
· 1–3 years of experience in steel fabrication, structural fabrication, or solar mounting structure fabrication.
· Experience in solar EPC projects will be preferred.
Technical Skills
· Structural fabrication and assembly.
· MIG, ARC, or TIG welding (as applicable).
· Metal cutting and grinding.
· Reading engineering drawings.
· Measurement and layout using fabrication tools.
· Operation of fabrication and welding equipment.
· Knowledge of fabrication quality standards.
· Basic understanding of structural alignment and tolerances.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
