Job Summary:
The CNC Setter is responsible for setting up and preparing CNC machines for production runs. This includes installing cutting tools, loading and verifying CNC programs, setting machine parameters, conducting first-off inspections, and ensuring production meets quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC milling, turning, or machining center machines according to production requirements.
- Install and align fixtures, tooling, and workpieces.
- Load, edit (where authorized), and verify CNC programs.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters.
- Perform first-off inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Monitor initial production to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot setup-related issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering drawings, and process instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company safety procedures.
- Record setup data and complete production documentation.
- Coordinate with CNC operators, programmers, and quality personnel to achieve production targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience setting CNC lathes, milling machines, or machining centers.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T (preferred).
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and quality systems.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a CNC Setter or in a similar machining role.
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mitsubishi, or Mazatrol.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices is an advantage.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
