1. Policy Analysis & Monitoring
Track and analyse legislation, policies, budgets, and government orders
Maintain policy trackers and produce internal briefings
Identify inclusion gaps and monitor implementation of key frameworks
2. Advocacy, Government & Stakeholder Engagement
Support and execute advocacy strategies and campaigns
Build and manage relationships across government, policymakers, think tanks, coalitions, and academic institutions
Act as a key point of contact for ministries, departments, and commissions
Identify and engage policy champions within government systems
Represent APD in consultations, forums, and working groups
Lead APD’s engagement with the Accessibility Coalition (joint advocacy notes, participate in working groups, co-host policy roundtables, joint recommendations)
Drive advocacy across national, state, and local levels using YTA data
3. Government Relations & Execution
Support national ministry engagement
Track government timelines (budgets, sessions, consultations)
Translate policy inputs into government-ready formats (briefs, submissions, notes)
Coordinate meetings, consultations, and government engagements
Facilitate advisory channels and follow-ups
4. Convening, Coordination & Collaboration
Facilitate dialogues between government stakeholders, communities, and partners
Support government visits, consultations, and field engagements
Coordinate with local bodies and partners on implementation initiatives
Collaborate across internal teams and maintain institutional policy knowledge
Mentor junior team members
Develop and manage a strategic partnerships pipeline across government, donors, civil society, DPOs, academia, and private sector
Identify and formalise partnerships through MoUs and joint initiatives,sustain long-term, trust-based relationships and collaborations
Represent the organisation in networks, coalitions, and external forums
Convene and lead the ESG + Disability Inclusion Working Group: develop ToR, recruit corporate and policy members, draft guidelines integrating disability within ESG reporting, and release final guidance document
Lead regional government engagement (Sugamya Yatra 2.0): identify priority states, recruit regional coordinators, and support state governments in using YTA tools for accessibility monitoring
Lead proposal development, concept notes, and funding applications
Manage donor reporting and engagement
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities
Develop and execute communications strategies aligned with advocacy priorities
Produce and oversee content: briefs, reports, op-eds, campaigns, and digital content
Support media engagement, messaging, and public positioning
Build and support coalitions and networks across sectors
Facilitate joint advocacy efforts and multi-stakeholder engagement
Engage with academic, private sector, and civil society partners to amplify impact
Plan and execute events, consultations, and public forums
Manage the digital accessibility Fellowship: design ToR, select fellows, oversee field research, and publish findings, present at public forums to inform state service delivery improvements
Develop event materials and manage end-to-end coordination
Maintain institutional content and communications knowledge
Postgraduate degree in Communications, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related field
5–10 years of experience in partnerships, communications, or external relations
Experience in donor engagement, proposal development, and strategic communications
Familiarity with development or policy sectors preferred
