Role: Counselor
Location: Ludhiana, Punjab.

Reporting Person: Project Director
Professional Fees: Rs 25,000/- to Rs 30,000 per month (excluding travel and communication expenses)
Probation Period: 3 months Min.
Qualification: Masters of Social Work (in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work or Mental Health or Family and Children Welfare) or Masters in Counseling Psychology, minimum 2 years of experience.
Note: Preference will be given to those who have experience of working with children and community.
Geographical area: District Ludhiana Tasks that need to be done to achieve the outcomes of project and impact envisioned: Provide emotional and psychological support to children in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection.
Conduct individual counseling sessions with children appearing before the Juvenile Justice Board. Help children cope with fear, anxiety, trauma, stigma, and stress related to legal proceedings.
Conduct preliminary psychosocial assessments of children and families. Identify emotional, behavioral, family, educational, or substance abuse related concerns.
Maintain confidential counseling records and case notes.
Assist in preparing social background inputs, wherever required, in coordination with stakeholders.
Build trust and create a safe, non-judgmental environment for children Counsel parents/guardians to improve family support systems. Facilitate family restoration and reintegration wherever appropriate.
Guide families on positive parenting, communication, and child protection issues. Mediate between child and family members in cases of conflict.
Coordinate with Juvenile Justice Board members, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Probation Officers, Legal Services Authorities, police, and child care institutions. Participate in case discussions and referral processes.
Support rehabilitation and restoration planning for children.
Refer children to mental health services, de-addiction centers, medical services, shelter homes, educational institutions, or vocational training programme as needed. Follow up on referred cases to ensure continuity of care and support.
Maintain daily counseling registers, referral records, and monthly reports. Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
Submit reports and updates to project coordinators/supervisors as required.

Having a two-wheeler along with a driving license to drive.
Having your own Laptop.
Ability to work with vulnerable children and families.
Understanding of child psychology and trauma-informed care.
Having Proficiency in Punjabi, Hindi and English.
Computer knowledge includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
Willingness to associate with the project for 2 years.
Must be open to learn, unlearn and relearn.
