Job Title: Fashion Designer & Production Manager
About the role:
We are a premium D2C clothing brand based in Ahmedabad. We are looking for a creative and hands-on Skilled Fashion Designer to lead our design process from concept to the final product. We specialize in creating high-quality kurtas, dupattas, pants, shirts, and palazzos using pure fabrics and natural/azo-free dyes. Our brand promotes authentic Indian crafts, specifically working with hand-block prints like Bagh, Bagru, and Ajrakh. This is a full-time, in-person role where you will be the heart of our design studio and production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Creative Development:
- Trend Research: Keep up with latest fashion trends, fabrics, and silhouettes that fit our brand’s vision.
- Sketching & Concept: Create original design sketches, mood boards, and select fabrics/trims for our collections.
- Pattern Making: Develop precise patterns (paper or digital) and finalize the fit/measurements for all sizes.
- Sampling: Create the first sample of every design and refine the fit until it meets our standard.
2. Production Oversight (Technical Execution):
- Technical Guidance: Act as a bridge between design and production. Clearly explain patterns and construction techniques to the Cutting Master.
- Floor Management: Assign daily targets to Stitchers and supervise the entire sewing process to ensure the design is executed exactly as planned.
- Quality Control: Perform strict quality checks at every stage—from cutting and sewing to the final finishing—to maintain high brand standards.
What we are looking for:
- A strong portfolio showing your design sketches, patterns, and finished garments.
- Expertise in garment construction, fabric behavior, and measurement systems.
- A "hands-on" personality—you should be comfortable working in a studio environment and leading a small production team on the floor.
- Ability to balance creative design with practical production requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Fashion Designing.
- Proven experience in designing and managing garment production.
- Must be able to work in-person at our Ahmedabad office.
