Reliability Engineer
Experience – 6 to 9 years
Location Pune
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Reliability Engineer to lead reliability initiatives for embedded electronics and IoT products. This hybrid role combines hands-on product validation with advanced statistical analysis to ensure robust, durable, and high-performing systems from concept through deployment.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to embed reliability into the design process, implement test and validation strategies, and use data-driven methods to optimize product performance in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Reliability:
- Integrate Design for Reliability (DfR) and Design for Test (DfT) principles early in the product lifecycle.
- Develop and execute reliability test plans for embedded and IoT products (HALT, HASS, thermal cycling, vibration, humidity, etc.).
- Work with hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams to define reliability criteria and failure thresholds.
- Conduct FMEA, FTA, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential failure modes.
- Investigate root causes of product failures (in test or field) and lead corrective/preventive actions.
Statistical Reliability:
- Perform life data analysis using statistical tools such as Weibull, Lognormal, and Exponential models.
- Analyze field return data, warranty claims, and test data to identify trends and drive product improvements.
- Apply reliability growth models, accelerated life testing (ALT), and degradation analysis for early-life failure prediction.
- Use tools like ReliaSoft, Minitab, JMP, R, or Python to model failure behavior and reliability performance.
- Support predictive maintenance and performance monitoring strategies through data analytics and reliability metrics.
Key Metrics:
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- B10 Life / L10 Life
- Field Return Rates / Warranty Costs
- Reliability Growth Tracking
- First Pass Yield and Test Coverage
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
- 6-9 years of experience in product and statistical reliability, especially in electronics, embedded systems, or IoT devices.
- Hands-on experience with hardware validation, PCB-level testing, and system-level stress testing.
- Strong understanding of embedded system design principles (hardware and firmware).
Skills:
- Proficiency with reliability tools: ReliaSoft, ALTA, Minitab, or equivalent.
- Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, data loggers, etc.
- Knowledge of quality and reliability standards: IEC 60068, IPC, ISO 26262, ISO 9001, etc.
- Working knowledge of data analysis, scripting (Python/R), and dashboards for reliability KPIs.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in IoT edge devices, wireless protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc.), or sensor integration.
- Exposure to Agile hardware development, DFMEA automation, or machine learning for predictive reliability.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and performance bonuses
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Learning and development budget
- Opportunity to work on next-gen IoT innovations
Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
