The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, staff coordination, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
- Assist in managing day-to-day restaurant operations
- Ensure high-quality customer service and resolve guest complaints
- Monitor service flow, cleanliness, and restaurant hygiene
- Support opening and closing procedures
Staff Coordination
- Assist in staff scheduling, attendance, and shift management
- Train staff on SOPs, service standards, and grooming
- Supervise team performance during shifts
- Maintain discipline and teamwork on the floor
Sales & Cost Control
- Support achievement of sales targets
- Monitor food wastage and portion control
- Assist in inventory management, stock checks, and ordering
- Ensure proper billing and cash handling procedures
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI, hygiene, and safety standards
- Follow HACCP, GMP, and POSH guidelines
- Maintain required documentation and audit readiness
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily sales, manpower, and operational reports
- Coordinate with vendors, kitchen, and central office
- Act as Restaurant Manager in their absence
Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management preferred
- 4–7 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality operations
- Strong communication and team-handling skills
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and inventory
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays
