EMR Data Extraction Specialist
Job Objective
Toextract, validate, and deliver clinical and operational datafrom an EMR application backed by an SQL database for reporting and analytics .
Key Responsibilities :
Data Extraction & Querying
- Extract structured data from EMR SQL databases (SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle).
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries (JOINs, CTEs, window functions).
- Handle large clinical datasets (patients, encounters, diagnoses, procedures, medications).
- Extract data based on business and clinical requirements.
EMR Data Understanding
- Understand EMR data models (patient, visit, diagnosis and procedures)
- Understand the Entity relationship diagram
Data Validation & Quality
- Perform data quality checks (duplicates, missing values, referential integrity).
- Identify data gaps or inconsistencies and report issues
Data Delivery & Reporting
- Export data in required formats:
- CSV, Excel, JSON and XML
- BI tools (Power BI) for data analytics
- Create basic views or stored procedures for recurring extracts.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with clinicians, business users, and IT teams to clarify requirements.
- Document: SQL queries, Table mappings and Data definitions
Required Technical Skills
Database & SQL
- Strong SQL skills (mandatory)
- Experience with:
- SQL Server / PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle.
- Indexing, query performance tuning
- Understanding of relational schemas
- Business Intelligent Tool – Power BI / Tableau
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Scienceand Information Systems
- 3–5 years’ experience in SQL-based data extraction
- Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2 / FHIR
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
