The HMC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Horizontal Machining Centers to manufacture high-precision metal components. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, setting up the machine, and producing parts that meet quality and tolerance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Load raw materials and monitor the machining process for consistency and quality.
- Conduct in-process inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of HMC equipment.
- Adjust machine settings as required to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain production logs, machine records, and report any deviations or malfunctions.
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and the production team to optimize machining processes.
