Job Description – Senior Staff Nurse (Hair Transplant OT)
Role Overview
We are looking for a professional, experienced, and responsible Staff Nurse to manage the day-to-day clinical and operational activities of the Hair Transplant OT. The candidate will be responsible for team handling, staff coordination, roster planning, patient monitoring, medication management, OT stock management, infection control, and smooth execution of all procedures.
Key Responsibilities1. OT & Patient Management
- Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the OT on a daily basis.
- Conduct regular OT rounds and ensure all clinical and operational requirements are fulfilled.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after hair transplant procedures.
- Check and record BP, pulse, SpO₂, temperature, and other required vitals as per clinical protocol.
- Identify any abnormal patient condition and immediately escalate it to the concerned doctor/clinical head.
- Ensure proper patient preparation before procedures and appropriate post-procedure care.
- Maintain complete and accurate nursing and patient records.
2. Team Handling & Staff Management
- Supervise and manage the OT nursing and technician team.
- Allocate daily responsibilities according to workload and case requirements.
- Monitor staff performance, discipline, grooming, punctuality, and professional conduct.
- Ensure proper coordination between doctors, nurses, OT technicians, patient coordinators, and other departments.
- Address operational issues within the team and escalate critical matters to management.
- Ensure adequate staff availability during high-volume case days.
3. Roster & Shift Planning
- Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly staff rosters according to case volume and operational requirements.
- Plan duty allocation, shifts, weekly offs, and staff coverage.
- Ensure sufficient manpower is available for every scheduled case.
- Make immediate roster adjustments in case of emergency, absence, or increased workload.
- Maintain proper attendance and duty allocation records.
4. Medication & Clinical Knowledge
- Possess sound knowledge of commonly used OT medicines, emergency medicines, injections, IV fluids, antibiotics, analgesics, and other prescribed medications relevant to hair transplant procedures.
- Ensure medicines are available as per doctor-approved requirements and clinical protocols.
- Check medicine expiry dates, batch numbers, storage conditions, and availability regularly.
- Ensure medicines are administered strictly as prescribed and documented appropriately.
- Immediately report low stock, expired medicines, or any medication-related concern.
5. OT Stock & Inventory Management
- Monitor daily OT consumables, surgical supplies, medicines, and other clinical inventory.
- Ensure timely stock refill/replenishment in the OT.
- Maintain minimum stock levels for essential medicines and consumables.
- Conduct regular physical stock checks and maintain proper inventory records.
- Coordinate with the concerned department for purchase/requisition of required items.
- Ensure no procedure is affected due to shortage of essential OT supplies.
6. Infection Control & OT Hygiene
- Ensure strict adherence to infection-control and sterilization protocols.
- Monitor cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments.
- Ensure OT surfaces, equipment, trolley, and clinical areas are maintained hygienically.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical waste as per applicable protocols.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure OT hygiene and safety standards are maintained.
7. Emergency & Safety Management
- Maintain readiness for medical emergencies during procedures.
- Ensure emergency medicines, equipment, and supplies are available and functional.
- Assist the doctor during any emergency or complication.
- Ensure emergency protocols are understood and followed by the OT team.
- Escalate any patient safety concern immediately.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain proper patient nursing records, vital charts, medicine records, stock records, and OT checklists.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports related to OT operations, staff deployment, stock, and clinical issues.
- Report shortages, incidents, patient concerns, staff issues, and operational gaps to the concerned authority.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and confidential.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration as applicable.
- 2–5 years of relevant clinical/OT experience preferred.
- Experience in Hair Transplant / Dermatology / Plastic Surgery / Cosmetic Surgery OT will be an added advantage.
- Should be confident in handling a team independently.
- Should have strong practical knowledge of OT operations, medication, patient monitoring, stock management, and emergency protocols.
Performance Expectations
The selected candidate will be expected to take ownership of the OT floor, ensure proper staff deployment, maintain clinical standards, manage OT inventory, conduct regular rounds, and ensure that every case is executed safely, smoothly, and professionally.
The role requires a proactive team leader who can independently manage OT operations while maintaining high standards of patient safety, hygiene, discipline, and clinical coordination.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
