Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The role includes assessing respiratory status, administering treatments, managing oxygen therapy, operating mechanical ventilators, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' respiratory status through physical examination and diagnostic testing.
- Administer oxygen therapy and monitor patient response.
- Perform aerosol and nebulizer treatments.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators.
- Manage non-invasive ventilation (CPAP and BiPAP).
- Perform airway management, including suctioning and assisting with intubation.
- Obtain and analyze arterial blood gas (ABG) samples, where authorized.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and bedside respiratory assessments.
- Provide chest physiotherapy and airway clearance techniques.
- Assist during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and medical emergencies.
- Monitor patients receiving respiratory support and adjust therapy according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory medications, inhaler techniques, oxygen equipment, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (depending on country and employer requirements).
- Current Respiratory Therapist license or registration as required by local regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required for pediatric or neonatal practice.
Pay: From ₹12,000.00 per month
