Job Summary
We are looking for a Fibre Splicer / Fibre Optic Technician who has hands-on experience in fibre optic cable installation, fusion splicing and testing.
The candidate will be responsible for fibre splicing, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining fibre optic connections at different project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fusion splicing of fibre optic cables.
- Properly prepare, strip, cleave and splice fibre.
- Carry out OTDR testing and identify fibre faults.
- Take LSPM / power meter readings where required.
- Prepare and maintain splice charts and OTDR reports.
- Troubleshoot fibre loss, breaks and connectivity issues.
- Handle and maintain fusion splicing machine, OTDR and other testing equipment.
- Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of splicing equipment.
- Follow project drawings, splice plans and client requirements.
- Work at client sites and project locations as required.
- Maintain proper records of completed splicing and testing work.
- Follow all company and site safety procedures.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and other technicians.
- Be willing to travel to different project sites.
Required Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of fibre optic splicing.
- Knowledge of fusion splicing machine.
- Basic knowledge of OTDR.
- Basic knowledge of LSPM / power meter.
- Ability to understand fibre core identification and splice plans.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working at client/project sites.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Telecom or related field preferred.
- Candidates with relevant practical experience may also be considered.
Experience
1–4 years of relevant experience in fibre optic splicing / OFC / telecom / networking projects.
Preferred
- Experience in data centre / telecom / structured cabling projects.
- Experience with OTDR testing and reporting.
- Two-wheeler licence and willingness to travel.
- Candidates available to join immediately will be preferred.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
