A Purchase Engineer for a real estate developer manages the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of construction materials and services. Key duties include material procurement, vendor finalization, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing:
- Handle procurement of construction materials (cement, steel, RMC, bricks, sand, electrical, plumbing, finishing materials).
- Float inquiries, analyze quotes, and prepare competitive statements.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) according to project Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Vendor Management:
- Identify and onboard reliable contractors, labor teams, and material suppliers.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Site & Inventory Coordination:
- Coordinate with site engineers and project managers to prevent delays.
- Monitor stock levels and manage material reconciliation.
- Billing & Cost Control:
- Verify vendor invoices and coordinate with accounts for payment clearance.
- Optimize budgets without compromising material quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 1 to 5 years in real estate, construction, or EPC procurement.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP software, and reading architectural or structural drawings.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and market-networking abilities.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
