Director – Customs Clearance
Lead and manage all import customs clearance operations across Express Global Logistics, ensuring timely cargo clearance, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth of the import business. The role covers import clearances across ports, airports, ICDs, CFSs, SEZs, FTWZs, bonded warehouses, project cargo, and specialized import transactions.

Lead end-to-end import customs clearance operations across all branches and gateways.

Ensure full compliance with Customs regulations, DGFT requirements, Foreign Trade Policy, and AEO standards.

Provide strategic guidance on HS classification, valuation, licensing, EPCG, project imports, and customs notifications.

Oversee specialized clearances including project cargo, second-hand machinery, SEZ/FTWZ shipments, bonded warehousing, breakbulk cargo, and re-import/re-export transactions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Customs authorities, DGFT, port operators, shipping lines, airlines, CFSs, and key customers.

Drive operational excellence through process standardization, TAT improvement, digital adoption, and performance monitoring.

Act as the senior escalation point for customers and support business development through customs consultancy and solution design.

Lead, mentor, and develop import operations teams while fostering a culture of compliance, accountability, and customer focus.

Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.

15+ years of experience in customs clearance and import operations, including leadership of multi-location teams.

Strong expertise in Customs regulations, DGFT procedures, Foreign Trade Policy, Project Imports, EPCG, SEZ/FTWZ operations, bonded warehousing, and trade compliance.

Proven leadership, stakeholder management, customer relationship management, problem-solving, and commercial acumen.

Strong network and engagement experience with Customs authorities, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
