Job Overview
We are looking for a Garment Merchandiser to manage apparel orders from development to final shipment. The candidate will work closely with buyers, production teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and smooth order execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuyer Coordination & Order Management
- Communicate with buyers to understand product requirements and specifications.
- Manage the complete order process from sampling to final shipment.
- Coordinate with buyers regarding approvals, timelines, and order updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with buyers and customers.
Sampling & Product Development
- Follow up on sample development and approvals.
- Coordinate with design, sourcing, and production teams for sample preparation.
- Ensure samples meet buyer requirements and quality standards.
- Track changes and updates during the development process.
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source fabrics, trims, accessories, and other materials at competitive prices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely material availability.
- Negotiate prices and maintain cost-effective sourcing solutions.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships.
Production Coordination
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor production schedules and track order progress.
- Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Resolve production issues and delays promptly.
Costing & Quality Control
- Prepare product costing and support price negotiations with buyers and vendors.
- Monitor quality standards throughout production.
- Coordinate with quality teams to ensure products meet customer requirements.
- Follow up on inspections and quality approvals.
Shipment & Documentation
- Coordinate shipment schedules and delivery timelines.
- Maintain records of orders, invoices, purchase orders, and shipment documents.
- Prepare production and order status reports.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and updated.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Fashion, Textile, Apparel, Merchandising, or any related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Garment Merchandising, Apparel Production, or Buying House operations.
- Good knowledge of garment manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and email communication.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and work under deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in woven, knit, or apparel manufacturing.
- Knowledge of sourcing, costing, and production planning.
- Understanding of garment quality standards and inspections.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with buyers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
