Job Description:-UV Machine Operator cum Designer
To operate UV printing machines, prepare print-ready artwork, maintain print quality and machine condition, and manage production jobs, samples and demonstrations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. UV Machine Operation & Production
- Operate UV flatbed and related digital printing machines.
- Set up material, alignment, resolution, speed, passes, white ink and varnish according to job requirements.
- Print on acrylic, wood, glass, metal, MDF, PVC, leather and other compatible substrates.
- Manage daily production schedules and complete jobs within committed timelines.
- Minimise material wastage, printing errors and reprints.
2. Designing, File Preparation & RIP
- Prepare and modify customer artwork using CorelDRAW; knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.
- Prepare print-ready files including resizing, colour correction, white ink, varnish and special-effect layers.
- Use RIP software for print profiles, colour settings, nesting and job placement.
- Coordinate with the sales/customer team for artwork clarification when required.
3. Print Quality Control
- Check colour accuracy, alignment, resolution, registration, white ink, varnish and print adhesion.
- Identify and correct printing defects before final production.
- Ensure consistent quality across repeat jobs and minimise rejection.
4. Machine Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning, nozzle checks, head cleaning and routine preventive maintenance.
- Maintain ink levels and keep print heads, wipers, capping stations, UV lamps and machine bed clean.
- Follow proper startup/shutdown procedures and report technical issues immediately.
- Maintain basic machine maintenance records.
5. Samples, Demonstrations & Coordination
- Prepare quality samples for customers, exhibitions and machine demonstrations.
- Assist the sales team during live demonstrations and customer sample printing.
- Explain basic printing applications and possibilities when required.
- Coordinate with production, sales and dispatch teams for smooth job completion.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- First-print accuracy and consistent print quality.
- Minimum material/ink wastage and reprints.
- Timely completion of production jobs.
- Proper machine cleaning and maintenance.
- Minimum operator-related machine downtime.
- Quality of customer samples and demonstrations.
Skills Required
- Hands-on knowledge of UV digital printing machines.
- Good knowledge of CorelDRAW.
- Photoshop and Illustrator knowledge preferred.
- Understanding of RIP software, colour management, white ink and varnish printing.
- Basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple jobs.
Preferred Qualification & Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Graphic Designing, Printing Technology or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in UV or digital printing preferred.
