A Planning Civil manager is the strategic mastermind behind construction projects, responsible for creating schedules, managing resources, budgeting, and ensuring projects finish on time using software like Primavera P6 and MS Excel. They bridge the gap between design and site execution, with roles covering project planning, progress monitoring, and cost management.
Job roles:
Core Responsibilities of a Planning Engineer:
- Scheduling & Time Management: Developing detailed project schedules (levels 1–4) and Critical Path Method (CPM) networks to monitor progress.
- Resource & Cost Management: Allocating materials, manpower, and machinery; planning budgets; and conducting cost-benefit analyses.
- Progress Tracking: Using daily/weekly reports to update schedules and conducting Earned Value Management (EVM) to ensure cost/time efficiency.
- Coordination: Working with procurement, design, and site teams to avoid bottlenecks in materials or drawings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Creating progress reports (S-curves) for stakeholders and managing extension of time (EOT) claims
Qualification and Experience:
· Software Proficiency: Mastery of Primavera P6 and MS Excel is crucial.
· Technical Knowledge: Understanding of structural design, construction methodologies, and project management principles.
· Qualifications: Typically requires a B.E/B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering, often with 2-7 years of site or planning experience.
· Communication: English communication is must, Hindi desirable.
· This position requires travel to different locations based on project needs
