Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures across construction projects.
- Conduct inspections of civil, structural, finishing, and MEP works.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable IS codes.
- Review and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality documentation.
- Inspect incoming construction materials and verify compliance with approved specifications.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Raise, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Verify laboratory test reports for concrete, steel, and other construction materials.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, checklists, and material approvals.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Monitor calibration of testing and measuring equipment.
- Support project handover by ensuring completion of punch lists and quality documentation.
- Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement across project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Certification in QA/QC or ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor is preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS Codes), NBC, and quality management practices.
Experience
- 3–8 years of QA/QC experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Experience working with reputed developers, EPC contractors, or PMC organizations is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of concrete technology, structural works, finishing works, waterproofing, and MEP quality checks.
- Familiarity with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and NCR management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
