Get credible people — journalists, podcast hosts, newsletter writers, event organisers — to talk about HawkGains and its founder, without us paying for the placement.
What you'll actually do
- Build and own a media map of the outlets and people who cover Indian retail investing, derivatives, market structure and personal finance — specific journalists and beats, not a list of publication logos.
- Write and send pitches. Follow up. Track what lands and what doesn't, and tell us why.
- Secure and schedule podcast and YouTube guest appearances on finance and business shows.
- Turn the founder's trading research and market observations into angles a journalist can actually use — data-led, timely, quotable.
- Prepare briefing notes and likely-question prep before every interview.
- Position the founder as a go-to voice for market commentary — the person a desk calls when they need a derivatives quote on a volatile day.
- Manage the story around business milestones (SEBI Research Analyst registration, research publications, cohort launches).
- Maintain a simple monthly report: pitches sent, conversations open, placements secured, what you're changing next month.
What we are NOT hiring for
To be blunt, so neither of us wastes time:
- Not social media management, posting or scheduling — that's handled in-house.
- Not reel editing, graphic design or copywriting for our own channels.
- Not paid promotion, sponsored posts or media buying.
- Not "brand awareness" work with no measurable output.
What success looks like
First 30 days
- Media map delivered: 25–40 named journalists, podcast hosts and newsletter writers, with beats and contact routes.
- Three tested pitch angles built from the founder's actual trading research.
- First round of outreach live.
Days 31–90
- 4–6 confirmed placements — a mix of podcast appearances, expert quotes, or a byline in a recognised business/markets outlet.
- At least one relationship warm enough that the journalist comes to us for a quote.
- A clear, honest read on which angles are working and which should be dropped.
Must-haves
- Two or more years placing stories in Indian business, markets or personal finance media.
- Three verifiable placements from the last six months — live links, dated, with your role in each clearly stated.
- Working relationships with real journalists you can name, at outlets covering retail investing.
- Strong written English and clean, non-generic pitch writing. We will judge you on your pitch copy.
- Comfortable working with a solo founder — no marketing team to hide behind, no long approval chains, but also no support staff.
Strong advantages
- Prior work with a SEBI-registered entity, broker, fintech or finance creator.
- Working knowledge of SEBI's rules for financial content and finfluencers.
- Existing relationships in the Indian finance podcast circuit.
- Ability to read a market story and spot the angle without being handed one.
Non-negotiable: compliance
Everything you write on our behalf — pitches, press releases, quotes, bios — must avoid:
- Any return, profit or performance claim
- Any buy / sell / target / stop-loss language, or anything resembling a recommendation
- Any guarantee, assurance or implied certainty about market outcomes
- Any claim of registration, credential or affiliation we don't currently hold
All outbound copy is approved by the founder in writing before it goes out. No exceptions, no "we sent it, it was time-sensitive." SEBI enforcement in this category is active and the liability sits with us, not with you — so this clause is where the relationship lives or dies.
Compensation
Monthly retainer, quoted by you, benchmarked against the deliverables above. Open to a lower base plus a per-placement bonus for tier-1 outlets if you'd prefer upside. Paid monthly against invoice.
