FLAME University, Pune (Maharashtra, India), is the pioneer of liberal education in India. We welcome applications from all subfields of Literary and Cultural Studies, especially those candidates who have a marked focus on India. The instructor will offer undergraduate courses to support the major in Literary and Cultural Studies offered in the Department of Humanities and Languages. Candidates should be prepared to teach a broad undergraduate survey course as well as a variety of elective offerings. Specialists in Literature (across regions, genres and periods for Survey of Literature offerings), Critical Theory (across Continental, Contemporary, Gender and Film Studies) and Cultural Studies in India are all invited to apply.
Degrees in related fields, including but not limited to cultural anthropology, sociology, and/or area studies, will also be considered.
Faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching, advising students, participating in faculty colloquia, and academic administration. A Ph.D. (completed or nearing submission) is required at the time of application. Our expectation is that a successful applicant will:
