Full job description

Job Title: Head of Financial Accounting

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Head of Financial Accounting with expertise in various financial management areas, including taxation, compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), TCS (Tax Collected at Source), income tax filing, response to notices, and liaison with regulatory authorities. Additionally, familiarity with ICFAI, MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs), ROC (Registrar of Companies), and CWA (Cost and Works Accountants) regulations is highly desirable. This position requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage a team, collaborate with consultants, and provide strategic guidance on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee all aspects of financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in executing daily tasks and achieving departmental objectives.

· Manage the preparation and filing of TDS and TCS returns, income tax returns, and other statutory filings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

· Respond to income tax notices, queries, and assessments from tax authorities, working closely with consultants and legal advisors as needed.

· Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

· Conduct meetings with consultants, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities to address compliance issues, seek guidance on complex matters, and maintain positive relationships.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, business expansion plans, and financial decision-making processes.

· Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports to provide insights into company performance and support decision-making.

· Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or professional accounting certification (e.g., CA, ICWA) preferred.

· Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, taxation, and compliance roles, preferably in [industry or sector].

· Thorough understanding of TDS, TCS, income tax laws, and compliance requirements in India, with a track record of successfully managing tax filings and assessments.

· Experience in responding to income tax notices, representing the company in tax matters, and resolving disputes with tax authorities.

· Knowledge of ICFAI, MCA, ROC regulations, and familiarity with filing requirements and procedures.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
