BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST
Project Background
Project: “HOLDING HAND IN MAGICAL YEARS” - “EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT & NEUROREHABILITATION CENTRE” - AT AIIMS KALYANI
To ensure early and appropriate diagnosis followed by provision of comprehensive therapeutic packages to children (0-18 years) with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD and SLD and others. Existing packages will be assessed for their real-life applicability and newer cost-effective diagnostic and interventional packages for low-resource settings which will be validated not only in India but Internationally. This will include advanced neurorehabilitation using recent technological advances like virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, brain-computer interface, robotics and Alterative Augmentative Communication (AAC) which are being developed in the Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research for Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Child Neurology Division, Department of Pediatrics, AIIMS, New Delhi.
To integrate screening and diagnostic tools for the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders with artificial intelligence-based applications to provide intervention measures to children who are far off from the facility. Cost effective therapeutic packages will be developed for Early Childhood Development (ECD) and nurturing care for typically developing children. To upgrade the national training-cum-resource Centre for the empowerment of professional and parents being run by Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research for Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Child Neurology Division, Department of Pediatrics, AIIMS, New Delhi.
