About the Role
We are looking for a strong UI/UX Designer who can design intuitive, emotionally intelligent, and scalable product experiences across mobile and web. The role is especially focused on conversational interfaces, AI-led journeys, agentic UI flows, design systems, and the use of AI in the design process itself.
You will work closely with product, engineering, growth, data, and content teams to shape user journeys where AI, experts, and product flows come together seamlessly. The ideal candidate should be comfortable designing for both structured app experiences and dynamic AI-led interactions, and should actively use AI tools to accelerate prototyping, simulation, and iteration.
Experience: 2–4 years
Key Responsibilities
1. Conversational UI & AI-led Experiences
Design user experiences for AI chat, guided flows, recommendation journeys, onboarding, nudges, and assistant-like interfaces.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing chat-based and card-based conversational flows.
- Creating intuitive experiences for AI companions, prompts, nudges, and guided decision-making.
- Translating complex AI outputs into simple, trustworthy, user-friendly interfaces.
- Designing fallback states, handoffs, confirmations, clarifications, and error recovery flows.
- Creating user journeys where AI helps users move from discovery to action.
2. Agentic UI Design
Design interfaces where AI agents can take action, recommend next steps, summarize context, personalize experiences, and help users complete tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing task-led AI journeys where users feel in control.
- Creating UI patterns for agent suggestions, approvals, edits, confirmations, and user overrides.
- Designing multi-step agent flows with clear transparency and trust.
- Building interfaces for AI-assisted decision-making, recommendations, and escalation to human experts.
- Ensuring agentic experiences feel helpful, safe, and predictable rather than overwhelming.
3. AI in the Design Process — Prototyping & Simulation
Actively use AI tools to compress design cycles, prototype faster, and simulate user experiences before they hit production.
Responsibilities include:
- Using AI-powered design tools (Figma AI, v0, Lovable, Cursor, Galileo, Magic Patterns, Claude Artifacts, etc.) to generate, iterate, and stress-test UI variants quickly.
- Building functional prototypes and interactive simulations rather than static mocks, so PMs, engineers, and leadership can experience flows before build.
- Simulating conversational and agentic flows end-to-end — including AI responses, edge cases, fallback states, and emotional tonality — to validate before engineering invests time.
- Using AI to generate copy variants, microcopy, and tonal experiments inside designs.
- Creating rapid A/B variants of screens, flows, and components to test hypotheses with the team.
- Staying current on emerging AI design tooling and bringing the best of it into Coto's workflow.
4. Sense of Data & Growth Hacks
Design with a sharp instinct for what moves the needle — funnel conversion, retention, monetization, and engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading product analytics, funnel data, retention curves, and CLM dashboards to inform design choices.
- Identifying friction points and conversion drop-offs and proposing design fixes backed by data.
- Designing growth-focused interventions — paywalls, upsell bridges, pack purchase flows, referral loops, streaks, and reactivation surfaces.
- Bringing a hacker's mindset — small UI changes, copy tweaks, placement experiments, nudges, and behavioral cues that compound into outsized outcomes.
- Partnering with growth, CLM, and marketing teams on lifecycle design — onboarding, win-back, churn prevention, and reactivation.
- Running and learning from rapid experiments rather than waiting for "perfect" designs.
5. Product Design & User Journeys
Own end-to-end product design across key user flows.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding user needs, business goals, and product requirements.
- Creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Designing mobile-first experiences across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
- Improving onboarding, discovery, consultation, payment, retention, and reactivation flows.
- Working with product managers to convert concepts into clear UX specifications.
- Running design reviews and iterating based on feedback, data, and user behavior.
6. Design System Approach
Build and maintain scalable design systems across product experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating reusable components, interaction patterns, and UI guidelines.
- Maintaining consistency across typography, colors, spacing, icons, cards, buttons, modals, forms, and navigation.
- Documenting usage rules for components and interaction states.
- Collaborating with engineering to ensure design-to-code consistency.
- Creating scalable patterns for chat UI, cards, expert profiles, recommendations, payment flows, and AI-led screens.
7. Collaboration with Product & Engineering
Work closely with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with product managers to define problems and solutions.
- Collaborating with engineers to ensure technical feasibility.
- Preparing developer-ready Figma files with clear annotations.
- Reviewing builds and ensuring design quality before release.
- Using analytics, user feedback, and conversion data to improve designs continuously.
Required Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in UI/UX, product design, or interaction design.
- Strong portfolio showing mobile app design, consumer product flows, and design systems.
- Experience designing conversational UI, chat interfaces, AI assistants, or guided flows.
- Hands-on fluency with AI design tools for prototyping, simulation, and copy generation (Figma AI, v0, Lovable, Cursor, Galileo, Magic Patterns, Claude Artifacts, or similar).
- Good understanding of agentic UX patterns such as suggestions, approvals, summaries, context memory, and human handoff.
- Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and design libraries.
- Strong sense of data — comfortable reading funnels, retention curves, and conversion metrics, and translating them into design decisions.
- Growth-hacking instinct — ability to spot friction, propose quick wins, and design interventions that move metrics.
- Ability to think in systems, not just screens.
- Strong visual design sense with attention to typography, hierarchy, spacing, and interaction details.
- Experience designing for iOS and Android.
- Ability to simplify complex product logic into intuitive UX.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced product environments.
Good to Have
- Experience with AI products, wellness products, creator platforms, marketplaces, consultation platforms, or consumer subscription products.
- Understanding of behavioral design, nudges, personalization, and retention flows.
- Experience designing payment, wallet, subscription, or pack-purchase journeys.
- Familiarity with accessibility, localization, and multilingual design.
- Experience working with growth, CLM, or performance marketing teams.
- Ability to design emotionally sensitive experiences with trust, privacy, and safety in mind.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can think deeply about user behavior, not just UI polish. They should be able to design experiences that feel simple, human, emotionally safe, and conversion-friendly.
They should be excited about the future of AI-led interfaces and understand that the next generation of product design will not only be screen-led, but also conversation-led, context-led, and agent-led. They should also be excited about using AI as a co-designer — to prototype faster, simulate richer experiences, and ship more, sooner.
A bias toward shipping, measuring, and iterating is essential.
Success Metrics
The designer will contribute to:
- Improved onboarding completion.
- Higher consultation or transaction conversion.
- Better AI companion engagement.
- Stronger user retention and repeat usage.
- More consistent product experience across mobile and web.
- Faster design-to-development execution through reusable components and AI-assisted prototyping.
- Higher trust and clarity in AI-led user journeys.
- Measurable lift on growth and retention metrics through design interventions.
