Directory Services – Senior Active Directory Engineer (Job Grade 4)

In the Cyber Engineering & IAM Solutions Product Family the Directory Services Product Team is responsible for providing secure, audit proof Directory Services on-premise and in the cloud. Be part of a global community where your ideas and expertise make a real impact.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and enhance Active Directories (AD).
Serve as a technical expert for authentication and authorization services, group policies and related Microsoft ecosystem components.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and third-level support for complex issues across global environments.
Collaborate closely with other architects, engineers, project managers, and product owners in a global team setup.
Participate in lifecycle management, migrations, and system hardening.
Document configurations and operational procedures.
Contribute to ongoing process improvements, automation, and optimization.
Create architectural diagrams and documentation.
Identify risks, design, and provide mitigation strategies.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the technology landscape and provide technical leadership.
Share knowledge and best practices while interacting with and building consensus across business and technical areas and teams.
Apply and adapt known tools/solutions after detailed analysis and develop creative approaches to solve problems which are typically undefined and unexpected.
Resolve topics with a focus on efficiency or operational excellence and take new perspectives.
Influence strategic decisions within the product scope.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Completed university degree in IT-related fields with at least five years of professional experience in:
Extensive knowledge of Active Directory administration
Administration of a Windows Server–based infrastructure (2016/2019/2022/2025)
Knowledge of solution architecture or infrastructure design
Troubleshooting complex enterprise environments
Third-level support roles
Strong understanding of identity and access management, security principles, and best practices.
Experience working in global or distributed teams with cross ‑ functional collaboration.
Proficiency with scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and operational tasks.
Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of virtualization (Hyper ‑ V, VMware)
Experience with technologies such as DNS, DHCP, Patch Management, Group Policies, Sites and Services, EntraID, AAD Connect
Networking fundamentals
Enterprise monitoring tools
Experience with Linux-based Operating Systems (System Lifecycles, Update management, enterprise versioning)
