About the project
In India, unified and collective action is crucial in the fight against TB. With millions affected annually, a collaborative approach that leverages diverse expertise is essential. The Union proposes to work in close collaboration with Central TB Division and NTEP State and district program managers in the State of Chhattisgarh and Punjab for a period of eleven months through a donor funded project.
The project proposes to pilot innovations for improving access to facility-based and home-based Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) services within private health facilities, with a focus on multi-specialty/corporate hospitals, chemists and laboratories. The scope involves implementing and evaluating integrated service delivery models to improve TB prevention and treatment completion outcomes. The expected outcome is to develop a sustainable, costed system that generates increased demand for TPT and achieves a high treatment completion rate.
The project will buildcoordination system between NTEP and private health facilities for initial engagement, capacity building, and streamlining service delivery. The intervention will include establishment of the concept of "TPT Centers" on a pilot basis within selected multi-specialty/corporate hospitals or jointly the private hospital & laboratories to offer a comprehensive TPT service for the close contacts of the TB patients notified in the private sector, deploying a standardized TPT cascade, including screening, initiation, and follow-up. The staff will activate a secure supply chain mechanism to distribute TPT to the TPT Clinics/ Chemists and doorstep delivery of NTEP-provided, free TPT medications to beneficiaries and conduct comprehensive upskilling and capacity-building through orientation sessions for diverse private healthcare providers, addressing knowledge gaps on TPT eligibility, assessment, and scientific updates. The goal of the proposed project is to achieve at least 80% screening and testing coverage of eligible Household Contacts (HHCs) of people with TB, notified from the private sector and more than 90% treatment completion rate among those who are initiated on TPT.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work closely with the State Technical Officer, for implementation of priority TB preventing interventions by providing clinical and programmatic guidance aligned with state priorities and objectives.
· Will be responsible for successful implementation of the private sector model as per project plan.
· Provide technical expertise in the design, planning, and execution of interventions to ensure achievement of intended TB preventive outcomes.
· Establish the concept of "TPT Clinics" on a pilot basis within selected multi-specialty/corporate hospitals or jointly the private hospital & laboratories to offer a comprehensive TPT service for the close contacts of the TB patients notified in the private sector, deploying a standardized TPT cascade, including screening, initiation, and follow-up.
· Activate a secure supply chain mechanism to distribute TPT to the TPT Clinics/ Chemists and doorstep delivery of NTEP-provided, free TPT medications to beneficiaries.
· Support development, adaptation, and implementation of SOPs, protocols, job aids, and quality standards.
· Conduct comprehensive upskilling and capacity-building through orientation sessions for diverse private healthcare providers, addressing knowledge gaps on TPT eligibility, assessment, and scientific updates.
· Engage and collaborate with private laboratories to develop an accessible TPT screening package to increase service access and convenience for patients.
· Work closely with State Technical Officer to support documentation of achievements, best practices, innovations, challenges and lessons learned for internal and external dissemination.
· Maintain regular coordination with district teams to support smooth execution of project activities.
· Will maintain a target based approach to engage private health facilities as per the determined outcomes of the project
· Collaborate with data team to track and monitor quality indicators and deliverables related to TPT services.
· Support development and use of dashboards and review tools to assess progress and identify areas for course correction.
· Contribute to preparation of program reports, review presentations and technical updates.
· Will provide supportive supervision to the project field staff to identify training gaps, data quality assurance and timely outcomes.
· Will be responsible for timely delivery of the expected outcomes of the project and expected mitigation action related to any field issue.

Qualification and Experience
· Graduate level qualification in Medical education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Public Health/Health Management will be preferred.
· 5-7 years of experience of working with public health programs especially in NTEP preferably within government systems.
· Strong understanding of TB standards, quality of care, and public health systems and TB preventive services.
· Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, counterparts and systems.
· Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
· Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports.
· Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members.
· Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations.
· Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
· Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Ability to travel extensively up to 50–60% of his/her time.

This position is offered as a fixed-term till 15 March 2027.
