At DGVS, we believe that quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Our mission is to bridge the gap between medical resources and underserved communities. Through our Mobile Medical Van Initiative, we take the hospital directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most—bringing healing, comfort, and free medication to diverse locations every single day.
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated medical professional to lead our mobile clinic and make a tangible difference on the front lines of community health.
Position Overview
As a Mobile Medical Van Doctor, you will be the face of DGVS’s healthcare outreach. This is not a typical desk job. Every day, you will travel to different communities, setup a mobile clinic, diagnose patients who often have limited access to healthcare, and provide them with essential treatments and medications.
If you are driven by purpose, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to use your medical skills for pure humanitarian impact, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Patient Care: Conduct daily OPD consultations inside and alongside the mobile van at various designated locations.
- Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses across diverse age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
- Medication Distribution: Screen, prescribe, and oversee the dispensing of free medicines from the van’s inventory.
- Community Health Education: Guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare to empower local communities.
- Emergency Response: Provide primary stabilization and refer severe cases to nearby secondary or tertiary hospitals when necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the van driver, support staff, and local community volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: Valid MBBS degree with a current registration with the Medical Council.
- Experience: Prior experience in general practice, emergency medicine, or community health is preferred, but passionate freshers dedicated to charity work are welcome.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic skills with limited resources, adaptability, and excellent communication.
- Heart for Service: Deep empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude toward vulnerable or marginalized populations.
- Language: Fluency in the local language(s) of the region is highly desirable to connect effectively with patients.
Job Perks & Work Environment
- Impact: The unmatched satisfaction of serving those who genuinely need your help.
- Dynamic Setting: No two days are the same; you will experience the rich diversity of different communities daily.
- Schedule: Day shifts only (No night shifts or on-call emergencies).
- Support: You will be accompanied by a dedicated team (driver/coordinator and a pharmacist/nurse) to assist you with logistics and medicine dispensing.
- Compensation: A competitive honorarium/salary aligned with NGO standards, along with travel provisions.
