About the Company
Trinath Infrastructure Private Limited (TIPL), operating since 2000 under M/s. Trinath Engineers and now incorporated as a Private Limited Company, is a 26-year-old construction and engineering firm headquartered in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The company is an approved “Special” Class contractor with the Government of Odisha (PWD) and holds a HT Electrical Licence.
TIPL delivers civil, mechanical, and electrical projects for marquee industrial and government clients including Tata Steel Kalinganagar, NALCO, Jindal Steel & Power, Hindalco, IFFCO Paradip, OCC, R&B Division (Govt. of Odisha), and RWS&S Division. Annual turnover for FY 2024-25 was ₹19.25 crore, with a strong pipeline including a recently awarded ₹60 crore tribal housing project in Nabarangpur, scheduled for execution starting June 2026.
The company is in an active growth phase, expanding into new project verticals while strengthening its core construction and mechanical project execution capabilities. This role is critical to that expansion.
Role Summary
The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end execution of civil construction works across TIPL’s active project portfolio, with particular focus on government and PSU infrastructure projects — bridges, roads, water supply schemes, public buildings, and industrial civil works for clients such as R&B Division, RWS&S Division, RW Division, OCC, and PSU clients including NALCO, Hindalco, and IFFCO.
The role is based at TIPL’s Bhubaneswar HQ with regular travel to active project sites across Odisha. The engineer will rotate between sites based on project demands, lead site teams of supervisors, foremen, and skilled workmen, and serve as TIPL’s technical face to government departments and client engineers. This is a senior individual-contributor role that combines hands-on site execution with planning, quality assurance, billing discipline, and tender support.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Site Management
- Take full ownership of assigned civil works at active project sites — from mobilisation through completion.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor day-to-day construction activities to meet project milestones.
- Lead site teams of supervisors, foremen, fabricators, fitters, rod binders, carpenters, and skilled/semi-skilled labour.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and other discipline teams for integrated project delivery.
- Ensure efficient deployment of TIPL’s in-house plant and machinery (excavators, batching plant, cranes, concrete pumps, transit mixers, compactors, etc.).
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce quality control standards at site — concrete mix design, reinforcement detailing, formwork, finishing, structural tolerances.
- Maintain inspection records, material test reports (cube tests, soil tests, aggregate tests), and quality documentation as per client and IS code requirements.
- Implement and monitor site safety protocols in line with statutory requirements (BOCW Act, ESI/EPF compliance, Labour License conditions).
- Liaise with client representatives, third-party inspectors (where applicable), and government departments for joint measurements, certifications, and stage clearances.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend subcontractors for specialised civil works (piling, waterproofing, finishing, etc.).
- Supervise subcontractor performance, certify work completion, and validate billing against actual measurements and quality.
- Coordinate material procurement requirements with the Procurement team and verify deliveries against PO specifications.
Billing, Documentation & MIS
- Prepare, verify, and certify Running Account (RA) bills, joint measurement sheets, and variation orders — with particular discipline for government clients (R&B, RWS&S, RW Division, OCC) where measurement accuracy, departmental certification, and audit-trail documentation directly determine payment timelines.
- Coordinate with Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer offices for joint measurements, third-party checks, and stage certifications.
- Maintain daily progress reports, material consumption registers, and labour deployment records.
- Provide weekly project status updates to the Project Director / Managing Director, flagging delays, cost overruns, or quality concerns proactively.
- Support tender preparation through quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and technical input on government and private bid documents.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as TIPL’s technical point of contact at site for client engineers, consultants, and government department officials.
- Attend site review meetings, present progress reports, and resolve technical queries on behalf of the company.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with client teams, particularly at PSU and government project sites where long-term relationships drive repeat business.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognised university — mandatory.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with substantial additional experience may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in civil construction project execution — mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years in a site-leading role (Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer, or Project Engineer).

- Direct experience working with government and PSU clients — R&B Division, RWS&S, RW Division, PWD, NHAI, OCC, NALCO, Hindalco, IFFCO, or similar — is mandatory.
- Working familiarity with government tender processes, departmental measurement and certification procedures, joint inspections, and government billing cycles.
- Experience with bridges, roads, water supply schemes, or public infrastructure is strongly preferred. Industrial civil construction experience (steel plants, refineries, factories) is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Indian Standards (IS codes) for concrete, steel, structural design, and construction practice.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting structural drawings, GFC drawings, and shop drawings.
- Hands-on experience with formwork systems, reinforcement detailing, concrete placement, and finishing works.
- Familiarity with surveying instruments — Total Station, Theodolite, Auto Level.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with MS Project or Primavera is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Excel for quantity calculations, billing, and progress tracking.
