Role description

Experience: 7–9 years
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager / Director of Finance

Role Overview

The Senior FP&A Analyst is responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis to support business decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, business partnering, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Forecasting

Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
Develop financial models to project revenue, costs, and profitability
Monitor performance vs. budget and forecast variances

2. Business Performance Analysis

Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Provide insights on key drivers impacting business performance
Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports and dashboards

3. Strategic Support

Support long-term strategic planning and scenario analysis
Partner with business units to evaluate new initiatives, investments, and cost optimization
Conduct profitability and ROI analysis

4. Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, HR, etc.)
Present financial insights to senior leadership
Act as a finance business partner to assigned departments

5. Process Improvement & Automation

Improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
Drive automation using tools like Excel, BI platforms, or ERP systems
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
MBA / CA / CFA (preferred but not always mandatory)

Experience

7–9 years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Exposure to large corporates / MNCs / fast-growing startups

Technical Skills

Advanced Excel (mandatory)
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Stakeholder management and business partnering mindset
High attention to detail with strategic thinking ability

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy of forecasts and budgets
Timeliness and quality of financial reports
Quality of insights provided to leadership
Process efficiency improvements

Nice-to-Have

Experience in automation tools (Python, SQL)
Industry-specific experience (e.g., IT, manufacturing, fintech)
Exposure to investor reporting or board-level presentations
