Mission:
As an observability technologies expert, such as Open-telemetry, Grafana, she/he needs to ensure reliability, scalability, high availability and security of platforms by combining administration expertise with automation-driven DevOps principles. She/he should manage mission‑critical environments while building automated, scalable, and modern data operations workflows.
This role blends traditional administration responsibilities with DevOps engineering to help evolve our infrastructure/platform into a more resilient, automated, and efficient ecosystem.
She/he should provide other IS teams with processes, methods and tools necessary for their activities, as well as the associated standards, assistance and advice.
Technical knowledge:
. Expertise on Grafana Administration and developments is a must.
. Expertise on Containers - Kubernetes is a must.
. In addition, knowledge is required on:
1. Linux OS (System and network knowledge, commands)
2. Cloud
3. LDAP protocol
4. Ansible scripting
5. Terraform scripting
6. Python scripting
7. Git - Gitlab
Your future duties and responsibilities
KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
. Perform installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations with automation/GitOps approach.
. Administration and upgrade of the monitoring platform supported by the team.
. Health-check of the platforms, analysis of the quality and appropriateness of the data ingested and stored, of the dashboards/alerts and queries developed by the users, in order to guarantee optimized performance and cost of the solutions provided by the team.
. Develop or support teams, optimize dashboards and queries; Optimize dashboards and queries that have poor performance or degrade overall platform performance.
. Develop tools for administration, testing, automated deployment, and monitoring of the solutions provided by the team.
. Collect the needs of the development and infrastructure teams, with a proactive and pedagogical approach in order to help them identify interesting monitoring cases based on the data available to them.
. Troubleshoot issues, including deadlocks, blocking, long‑running queries, and resource bottlenecks.
. Help the development and infrastructure teams to choose the data to be ingested into the monitoring platform.
. Audits and reviews of monitoring implemented by development or infrastructure teams.
. Coaching and Support to development and infrastructure teams on the tools recommended by the team.
. Prospective and technological watch, technical studies, either of new functionalities of the solutions, or of new solutions to be brought by the team.
. Participation in the definition of norms, standards and best practices for the use of tools recommended by the team.
TEAM LIFE:
. Respect the rules and rituals of the team (Agile mode), and participation in the continuous reflection on its organization in order to improve its efficiency.
. Participate in the load estimates of the subjects / tasks listed in the backlog, challenging them if necessary.
. Participation in the choice and assignment of topics/tasks to be covered in the short-term Agile sprints, with the objective to deliver incremental features at a regular rate, and to regularly upgrade components and tools
