Full job description

Job Title: Staff Nurse – MICU

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill adult patients. The role involves monitoring, assessing, and managing patients’ conditions, administering treatments, assisting in procedures, and ensuring adherence to ICU protocols. The nurse also supports families and participates in multidisciplinary care planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, monitor, and document patients’ vital signs, clinical status, and responses to treatment.
Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and prescribed therapies safely and accurately.
Assist physicians and specialists in critical care procedures.
Operate and monitor ICU equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
Provide emergency care, including resuscitation and life support when required.
Maintain strict infection control and hygiene standards in the MICU.
Educate and counsel patients’ families on care plans and post-discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing preferred).
Experience in critical care or MICU preferred.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
Knowledge of ICU protocols, emergency interventions, and patient monitoring.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to handle critically ill patients and assist in procedures.
Comfortable standing and working in high-stress ICU environments.

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency interventions.
Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kadur, Karnataka
