Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Product Owner to join our expanding Product Management team in India. This role is central to the agile development and delivery of complex, enterprise-grade compliance solutions used by global financial institution, specifically experienced in Data driven projects including ETL pipelines and AI integrations.
As a Product Owner, you will:
- Functionally document, design and guide the Tech teams in Data intrinsic forecasts and efforts.
- Understand MCO as a product to clearly guide and extrapolate how each module relates and translates to backend design.
- Understand intricacies of MCO and suggest improvements, suggestions based on Customer feedback.
- Translate business goals and customer needs into actionable requirements.
- Work closely with global stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, and QA.
- Drive the definition, planning, and execution of product increments.
- Shape solutions that influence regulatory outcomes at a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Planning and Backlog Management:
- Own and manage the product backlog for one or more functional areas, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with Product Management to translate product vision and roadmap into actionable features and sprint deliverables.
- Refine backlog items continuously through stakeholder feedback, grooming sessions, and sprint reviews.
- Define clear acceptance criteria and ensure stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).
- Maintain transparency on priorities, scope changes, and sprint progress across the cross-functional team.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, QA, and Business stakeholders to define and validate requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned product areas - ensuring delivery aligns with user needs and compliance objectives.
- Participate in client workshops or internal discussions to gather insights and clarify product behavior.
- Ensure alignment between business priorities, technical feasibility, and user experience considerations.
- Delivery Ownership
- Drive sprint execution with a focus on timely, high-quality delivery that meets acceptance criteria.
- Support engineering teams during development by clarifying scope, resolving blockers, and reviewing progress.
- Collaborate with QA to validate functional and non-functional requirements before release.
- Ensure release readiness through comprehensive documentation, communication, and stakeholder signoffs.
- Contribute to post-release evaluation and continuous improvement through metrics and user feedback
- Solution & ETL Design Support
- Work with architects and designers to validate proposed approaches and ensure technical feasibility.
- Participate in wireframe and design reviews to confirm alignment with user stories and use cases.
- Support prototype validation and ensure the end product aligns with intended workflows and user expectations.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure compliance with internal design standards while taking care of scalability of the platforms.

Develop deep understanding of MCO as a product, guide the technical team on the approach and business implications in implementing a warehouse and an investigative assistant.

Document the design for MCO data architecture for the proposed data warehouse, including table mappings, column mappings, load strategy, data purging & retention.

Knowledge of data engineering stack, including database (normal forms), ETL Technologies, facts, dimensions, Normal Forms, reporting tools and integration with AI tools is a must.

Collaborate on metrics and reporting to assess product success and adoption.
- Compliance, Security & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all features and workflows adhere to security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the documentation of data flows, access controls, and non-functional needs (performance, scalability, maintainability).
- Contribute to audit readiness by maintaining complete traceability of requirements to delivery artifacts.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience
- 10-12 years of experience in Product Owner or Product Manager roles within SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- Working with data centric projects, basic knowledge on database architecture, ETL pipelines, reporting structures and end user interaction is a MUST.
- Prior experience with data warehouse implementations is a MUST to understand existing MCO architecture and future vision.
- Hands-on experience working with data-rich applications and large volumes of unstructured or sensitive data.
- Exposure to AI and analytics technologies—such as large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), or other applied machine learning systems—is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to define and deliver features that drive data extraction, normalization, reporting, and advanced user insights.
- Proven ability to translate product vision and stakeholder requirements into well-structured, actionable features and user stories.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering, QA, and design teams in agile delivery settings.
- Demonstrated success managing product increments from definition through deployment and customer feedback.
- Preferred: Domain knowledge of FinTech, Capital Markets, Trade Surveillance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or Data Analytics products.
- Preferred: Exposure to AI, ML, or automation-driven product features (e.g., LLM-based workflows, RPA, or predictive analytics).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and backlog management practices.
- Proficient in Jira, Confluence, or similar agile collaboration tools.
- Ability to define functional and non-functional requirements clearly, supported by testable acceptance criteria.
- Technical fluency in APIs, SQL, and data structures to support effective collaboration with development teams.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of bridging technical and business perspectives.
- Experience working with CI/CD, DevOps, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
- Preferred: Familiarity with the AI product lifecycle, prompt engineering concepts, and ethical AI considerations.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (required).
- Preferred: MBA or relevant business qualification from a Tier-1/Tier-2 institution.
- Preferred: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification.
