Full job description

We are looking for a passionate and driven Architect who is ready to take a bold step — transitioning into the world of Lighting Design. This is not just a job opening; it is a career-defining opportunity for a design professional who feels that light is not just a utility, but a language.

You bring a strong foundation in architecture — spatial thinking, technical drawing, client handling, and project management. We will build on that foundation with comprehensive, hands-on training in lighting concepts, tools, calculations, and design workflows. You will grow from an Architect into a fully equipped Lighting Designer with mentorship, real projects, and dedicated learning milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Assist senior lighting designers in developing lighting concepts and technical documentation
Prepare lighting layout plans in AutoCAD and coordinate with architectural drawings
Support 3D visualization and rendering of lighting scenarios for client presentations
Attend and participate in site visits — documenting conditions, dimensions, and existing systems
Accompany senior designers to client meetings, take structured notes, and prepare follow-up summaries
Research and compile luminaire options, prepare comparison matrices, and assist in selections
Study and apply photometric data to layout designs under guidance
Gradually lead smaller projects with mentorship support as skills develop
Actively participate in internal design reviews, team critiques, and learning sessions
Maintain organized project files, drawing registers, and correspondence records.

Mandatory Software Skills (Must Be Fully Trained)

As an architect entering a lighting design studio, you must arrive with professional-level proficiency in the following. These are non-negotiable baseline competencies.

AutoCAD

SketchUp

Photoshop

3D Visualization

Upto 5 years or more of hands-on experience working in an architectural firm or design studio
