BI Data Engineer
Role Overview
At Schneider Electric’s Digital Technology Centres (DTCs), we are expanding our Business Intelligence & Data Engineering capability and are seeking a strong, hands-on BI Data Engineer with deep expertise in ETL, SQL, data warehousing, and AWS-based analytics platforms. The role focuses on building, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-grade BI & ETL pipelines, primarily using AWS services (Glue, Redshift, S3), Informatica PowerCenter, and Tableau.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter, ensuring efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of enterprise datasets.
- Build and support BI-focused data warehouse architectures on AWS Redshift, including schema design, performance tuning, and workload management.
- Develop data processing scripts using SQL, Python, and Unix shell scripting.
- Handle source-to-target mapping, complex SQL transformations, and business logic implementation at the database layer.
- Manage deployments, job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Informatica workflows.
- Work with AWS ETL ecosystem — Glue, Lambda, S3, EC2, Redshift, Athena — to support scalable BI workloads.
- Integrate batch and near real-time ingestion pipelines supporting reporting, dashboards, and analytics use-cases.
- Ensure data quality, validation checks, and error-handling controls.
- Collaborate with BI Analysts, Data Engineers, and Business teams to translate business requirements into technical ETL/ELT solutions.
- Use DB management tools like DBeaver and DBVisualizer along with file transfer tools such as WinSCP and FileZilla, and SSH tools like PuTTY.
- Monitor data pipelines for performance, troubleshooting issues to maintain operational reliability and data availability.
- Create data visualization using Tableau and Power BI for stakeholders and data scientists for necessary business/ solution insights.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior data engineers, and define best practices for high-performance data engineering.
- Create data visualizations on enterprise data warehouses using applications like Tableau, Power BI
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, with successful delivery of enterprise-scale data projects.
- Proven track record in data lake design and ETL/ELT pipeline development on Informatica PowerCenter, AWS S3, AWS Redshift.
- Strong hands-on experience in building ETL pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter. Expertise in AWS analytics stack: S3, Redshift, Glue ETL, Glue Catalog, Athena, Lambda, EC2.
- Strong SQL skills with ability to write highly optimized, complex queries.
- Experience in Python for automation and data processing. Strong Unix/Linux scripting capabilities.
- Experience with schema design, dimensional modeling, and BI reporting data structures.
- Experience in data privacy, governance, and security frameworks suitable for enterprise environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in mentoring technical teams and setting engineering standards.
- Passion for continuous learning, active participation in Data Engineering/BI forums, and pursuit of industry-recognized certifications.
- Consulting Experience:
- Proven track record in an IT consulting environment, engaging with large enterprises and MNCs in strategic data solutioning projects.
- Strong stakeholder management, business needs assessment, and change management skills.
- Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and strategic vision.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Certifications:
- AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate
- AWS Certified Database Speciality
- Informatica Data Engineering Foundation/Professional Certification
or equivalent BI Data Engineering certifications is a plus
- Professional certifications in Data Engineering or Cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Data Engineer) is a plus

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
