Full job description

Job Title: Manual Software Testing Engineer (Intern)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Manual Software Testing Engineer Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by planning, executing, and documenting various testing activities. The candidate should have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and be capable of identifying and tracking defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documents.
Design, create, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and Sanity Testing.
Identify, document, report, and track software defects using defect management tools.
Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure software quality.
Validate bug fixes and perform re-testing to ensure issue resolution.
Prepare and maintain testing documentation, test reports, and defect reports.
Participate in requirement review meetings and provide feedback from a quality assurance perspective.
Ensure applications meet business requirements and quality standards before deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience in writing effective test cases and test scenarios.
Knowledge of Defect/Bug Life Cycle and defect tracking processes.
Familiarity with testing and bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation and testing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is an added advantage.
Exposure to Automation Testing tools is a plus.

Experience

Freshers with strong testing knowledge or candidates with 0–2 years of experience are welcome to apply.
Candidates with internship, academic project, or practical exposure to software testing will be given preference.
